Dr. Deborah B. Roebuck

Deborah B. Roebuck, Ph.D. joined the Siegel Institute for Leadership, Ethics & Character as Executive Director in January 2006. Her long tenure with Kennesaw State University includes faculty member with the Michael J. Coles College of Business since 1986, serving as Chair of the Department of Leadership and Professional Development, and Director of Executive MBA Programs, where she taught exclusively in the areas of organizational behavior, and communication, management, and leadership.

Dr. Roebuck has over 25 years as a business consultant and educator. She has published over 23 articles in journals and proceedings and has authored three text books. Her list of presentations to business and civic organizations, as well as to regional, national and international conferences, is extensive and includes such topics as "Executive Writing Skills. . .Writing for Increased Productivity," "Effective Business Speaking," "The Art of Listening," "The Write Stuff," "When It's Your Turn To Present," "Communicating with Customers and Clients," and "Barriers and Myths of Communication." Her professional affiliations include the Academy of Business Education, American Society for Training and Development, Association for Business Communication, Delta Pi Epsilon, EMBA Council, and Organizational Behavior Teaching Society. She has served as President of the Beta Tau Chapter of Delta Pi Epsilon, as Membership Representative for the Association of Business Communication, and as Co-Program Chair for the Organizational Behavior Teaching Conference in 2000.

Dr. Roebuck received a Research and Service Award from the A.L. Burruss Institute of Public Service; an Outstanding Business Educator from Beta Tau Chapter of Delta Pi Epsilon; an Outstanding Service Award from Lockheed Georgia Management Association; and a Service Award from the Student Government Association and The Committee on Services for Students with Disabilities. She is a three-time finalist for the Distinguished Teaching Award at Kennesaw State University and in 1999 was named Coles College Teacher of the Year.

Dr. Roebuck received her Ph.D. from Georgia State University and her master’s and B.S degrees from Northeast Missouri State University (now known as Truman State University). She earned a lifetime teaching certification from the states of Missouri and Iowa and is a qualified administrator of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the NEO-PR, as well as a certified Covey facilitator for the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and Building Trust for Kennesaw State University. She is also a certified skilled facilitator.
Dr. Roebuck is married with one adult daughter. Along with her family, she is very involved with equestrian activities and when free time allows, enjoys reading and visiting historical sites.
